The health check is intended for Ukrainian citizens who came to Estonia due to the Ukrainian war. It is FREE OF CHARGE and is performed by several medical institutions all over Estonia. All people who have arrived in Estonia are expected to have a health check-up as soon as possible after arriving in the country. The existence of an Estonian personal identification code is not necessary. Information about the clinics performing health check-ups can be found from the Estonian Health Board website.

Book an appointment

You can book an appointment for yourself, your relatives or loved ones who cannot make the reservation by themselves.

You can book an appointment online.

When booking online, you will be offered reception times via SMS to institutions where there are free appointment times available.

If a suitable appointment time is found, you will be sent an SMS with an offer of an appointment along with detailed information about the appointment (medical institution, location, date and time/times) within three hours. We ask you to confirm the appointment time by SMS as soon as possible but within three hours at the latest.

  • To confirm the appointment, reply ‘1’.
  • To receive a new appointment time offer, reply ‘2’. New appointment times can be requested two more times.
  • To cancel the appointment, reply ‘3’.

If you do not respond to the appointment time offer, the time offered to you will be cancelled and offered to another person.

  • Estonian personal identification code, Ukrainian personal identification code or, in the absence thereof, date of birth (e.g. 12.02.1982)
  • Contact details of the person making the booking (mobile phone number in Estonia or another country and e-mail address, if possible)

When you register for a health check-up, you will be asked about your previous illnesses so that the health check-up can focus thoroughly on the health issues of you and your loved one.

  • diseases suffered (including chronic diseases)
  • daily medications (prescription and over-the-counter; drug allergies)
  • surgeries (including pacemakers, traumas, blood transfusions, etc.)
  • exposure to infectious diseases
  • vaccinations that have been performed (including COVID-19)

Health check-up

Health check-ups are FREE OF CHARGE for Ukrainian war refugees. During the health check-up you will receive a full medical examination and blood tests. If necessary, vaccinations, X-rays and additional examinations, collection of medical history or blood tests will be performed.

Before the appointment

Please bring a personal identification document (passport, driver’s license, ID card, etc.) with you and, if possible, all health related documents of the person coming to the health check-up, including vaccination documents.

You can eat and drink before the appointment. If you regularly take medications, please bring all medication with you to the appointment.

After the appointment

Your healthcare provider will only inform you of the results of your medical check-up via telephone if there is a need for further testing or treatment. If the result of your health examination is normal, you will not be contacted.

The data of the health examination are entered into the national health information system in Estonia www.digilugu.ee. From this portal, all medical institutions, and you as well, can see the data of the health examination and make inquiries if you use medical services in Estonia in the future. In the future, you will have access to your health data with the Estonian ID card and its passwords on the Patient Portal at www.digilugu.ee
